🗓️ May 10th, 2026
This week stayed focused on growth, consistency, and continuing to build real-world electrical knowledge both on and off the jobsite. I’ve continued studying NEC concepts daily while also putting more effort into creating educational electrical content and connecting with others in the trade.
Still actively looking for opportunities to keep learning under experienced electricians and contractors here in Massachusetts. The goal stays the same: show up, work hard, stay teachable, and keep improving every week.
Outside of electrical work and studying, this week was mostly about balance and staying disciplined with routines. Trying to stay productive without burning out has been a big focus lately. Consistency matters more than motivation.
Upcoming focus areas:
NEC Article 430 (Motors)
Grounding & bonding review (for May)
Motor calculations and overload protection (started developing study notes for this). Articles 430, 240 coming soon.
Box fill and conductor calculations (for May into early June)
Continuing to improve troubleshooting knowledge and electrical theory
Stayed consistent in posting educational electrical content throughout the week while continuing daily NEC review sessions.
Main topics covered this week included:
NEC Article 314 box rules
Ground rods and fault current misconceptions
3-way switch discussions
Dedicated circuits and appliance loads
Motor calculation questions
AC power formulas and electrical theory
The goal is still to make electrical education easier to understand while also learning alongside the people following the content.
Spent more time reinforcing practical understanding instead of just memorizing code sections. Focusing on:
Why the code exists
Real-world application
Safety behind installations
Understanding current paths and system behavior
Trying to bridge the gap between theory, NEC requirements, and actual field work.
This week’s growth areas:
Motor load calculations, Grounding and Bonding Review, Outlet Boxes Review, and Fill Calcs.
Communication and teaching (being able to explain what I'm talking about properly)
Reading and interpreting NEC amendment language (for Massachusetts amendments)
Explaining electrical concepts clearly online (more YouTube videos to come)
Building confidence in discussing code topics publicly (relates to making more videos)
The biggest win this week was consistency.
Even on slower days, progress still happened:
Studying
Writing
Posting
Reviewing code
Engaging with other electricians
